Bobo Choses continues to speak the language of children with their vibrant pieces for Spring Summer 2016. Their core values are creativity, passion, honesty and sense of humour, perfectly shown by their latest prints and patterns. Laia Aguilar & Adriana Eperalba, both illustrators, designed BOBO CHOSES with each season beginning with a story, a new idea to base the latest collection around. This means each piece complements each other by being centred around one creative idea.
Influenced by modern Art, their S/S16 ‘Der Blaue Reiter’ collection gives us an array of fresh, bright and vibrant splashes of colour. This collection celebrates colour via the use of energetic painterly prints. The collection was inspired by artists such as Matisse, Picasso, Pollock and Hockney. 'Der Blaue Reiter' (The Blue Rider) was a name given to describe a group of artists based in Munich in 1911-1914, including Wassily Kandinsky and Franz Marc. Their love for the colour and the desire to express spiritual truths through their art is the basis for this season's Bobo Choses pieces.
Bold painted fruits and artists’ portraits are married with abstract patterns using fluid motifs and painted visual textures. The colour palette runs from soft apricot to bright yellows and blues, alongside blush pink backdrops for deep green, blue and red shapes.
